Founded in 2023 by award-winning Funeral Director, Trevor Shingler FSBP and his wife Gayle, a qualified and experienced counsellor, T & G aims to provide the people of Sunderland and surrounding areas with high-quality, professional funeral care at a sensible price.
We aim to do this by offering only what it is actually needed by bereaved families, with no pressured selling, or complex range of products and services. Trevor was awarded the presidents award for funeral directing from The Society Of Bereavement Practitioners. Trevor is married to Gayle and has been since 2016, they have 3 children between them Charlie, Kieran and Cameron also 2 Granddaughters Frankie and Lyla who was born christmas day this year. He enjoys watching football and spending time with his family.

Gayle started T&G Direct Funeral Services with her husband Trevor in 2023. Gayle has worked in the child care sector for over 25 years and in 2021 graduated as a Counsellor from Sunderland University. Gayle enjoys spending time with her granddaughters, reading and playing fetch with her dog Alfie in the garden.

Bob is the oldest member of our team at 73 years of age, he has dedicated alot of his life to supporting local charities doing the boxing day dip for the last 36 years, wing walking,

Bob is the oldest member of our team at 73 years of age, he has dedicated alot of his life to supporting local charities doing the boxing day dip for the last 36 years, wing walking, charity nights and he also used his bus pass to go round England. Bob is a keen beekeeper making his own honey. You can always find Bob down at his allotment on a weekend or in his garage tinkering on with his old Austin 10 car.
